Meeting held
on Friday the 9th of September
Meeting called to order by Jay Fitzpatrick at Olson’s home Time 7:30pm
Thanks goes out to our hosts
Matthew & Diana Olson for holding the meeting and for all the good snacks.
Treasurer’s report- Jim Brooks- we
have a positive of 3005.87. Discussed
raising entry fees due to gas prices.
Need to set costs soon! Good job
to Tom for his work on sending letters and collecting about $600.00 of dues and
advertising that was due.
24 Regional Competitors and 13
National Competitors from Canyon Lake.
August learn-to-ski Clinic. Thanks to all the Canyon Lake Ski Club
members that helped! We had 14 skiers
and they all were up on skis. Did get two new members signed up for our
club. Using 3 boats seemed to work best
and all the kids skied at least twice even some of them three times. Club mailed and paid for the USA water-ski
guest memberships $65.
Mini-course is up and working
well. We have not had any problems or
complaints. Thanks again Wayne!
Advertising on website - Discussed
setting up a Web Cam on our web site.

Sponsorship for our tournaments -
Discussed touching base with Ford.
Randy Jayne has sponsored our Bob Barton with a check from Medicine Shop
of $500.00. Thanks RJ & Kelley.
Club involvement- Need to find
members to help set up this years Banquet.
Maybe Kim Larson & Erin Nathan?
We will have a sign up sheet at September Open to find out when our
members would like the Banquet. January,
February, March, or April??? March or
April seemed favorable.
Also need to find a member to be in
charge of our Ski Show for Fiesta Days.
Club equipment - Diana & Bruce
will be compiling a list of equipment so we know what the Club owns. Need to make sure all club equipment is in
the shed. Christmas stuff-etc. With the shared efforts of Diana, Jay, and
Tom we have our letter all signed and mailed out to THANK the CLPOA for
building our shed. We will set up a
check out sheet for anyone who may need to borrow equipment.
Tournament Dates for 2006 -
Discussed our running of jump for our club tournaments Nov 6th &
our April tournament. Jump needs to be
set up as separate sanction with USA Water-Ski.
Bruce will take care of setting up the Club tournament dates and
submitting to Canyon Lake City. We will
have Breakfast with Santa on our December
3rd tournament. Yes Huge will be our Santa! Jim will work on setting up dates for our
sanctioned tournaments and figure out if we have any conflicts with Wet Set
Regional Warm up with our July tournament.
We need to make sure the May Open is not on Mother’s Day. Need to set up Officials for 2006 sanctioned
tournaments. We will have a list at our
September tournament and via e-mail.
Discussed the Bare-Footers need to contact Bill about questions on awards,
etc.
Scoring system for Club points –
Bruce passed out information on a new system we are considering. We would like to compare our old system with
the new. Bruce is going to show us with
the scores from last year how it would work.
We will be adding jump and overall awards this year. Need to discuss further.
Club apparel- E-mail orders have
been coming in to Matthew & Huge. John & Kim have been taking orders at
our tournaments. Huge has made up
another great graphic for the Bob Barton’s tournament. Huge had a sample at the meeting. Thanks Huge!
T-shirts will be $10. At our Head
to Head everyone that qualifies will win a T-shirt.
Newsletter- Follow up with Debbie Sacs & Huge about
newsletter design.
September tournament - A few of the
Officials could not make the 7pm meeting and had a meeting to go over details
at 5pm. We need to discuss how to handle
officials signing up and not being able to attend the Friday night
meetings. We will have a brief Water
Safety clinic for all the safety swimmers.
Need to work on our Trick Video equipment we did have a few problems. Anyone who has any old video stuff we could
use some donations. Tom will teach
Matthew how to measure ropes for the tournaments. All voted to allow Huge to receive a check
from Jim ahead of time for gas due to the high costs. All Officials seemed to have every detail
handled.
Jump Clinic September 24th-
So far signed up we have 15 jumpers, 3 members that would like to learn to
drive for jump, 3 members that would like to learn how to set up and run the
jump equipment, and 1 member that would like to work on how to judge jump. Dee & Pat will instruct on setting up
equipment, Krista Rogers will be our Coach, and Ron Almada will video.
Bob Barton tournament – Jay &
Cherie will be holding the Bar-BQ on Saturday night.
Head to Head - everyone that qualifies
will win a T-shirt.
September 30th Meeting –
Need to discuss Board Elections. Be
there or be nominated.
Next club meeting will be on
September 30th at 7:00 p. m.
Location will be announced.
